PROLOGUE:
This tutorial is going to walk you through Bora Applications
step by step, explaining the concepts and the functionality of these applications,
while elaborating on the underlying philosophy whenever deemed necessary.
The tutorial itself does not require a running instantiation of Bora. However,
it is recommended that you should boot Bora first, (as it will be explained
shortly how), and have a second browser window in which you can exercise the
examples. If you don't have a copy of Bora package, you can test the sample
applications running on our web site.
Bora is a multi-layered, end-to-end application
builder and incubator. It provides the complete infrastructure to develop,
assemble, deploy, and host applications. And then re-assemble and
re-deploy them into different applications...
The applications covered here reside in the outermost layer of
Bora. This tutorial is for end-users only; it will not scratch the inner layers
of Bora to keep the matters simple. It aims to give you:
- A sense of what can be accomplished in the Bora
Builder environment so quickly and efficiently
- An understanding of existing Bora Applications for html developers;
so they can modify the provided templates and customize these applications
for their clients.
Developing new Bora Applications will take more than just html knowledge.
It requires an understanding of the Bora Application
API, knowledge of Java, and the inner-workings of the second-layer
(out of a total of five, where the core is the Bora engine), that is not covered
here.
